Street Photography in Hong Kong - 15 Nov 2025

This set of photos was captured with a HKD 1,600 Android phone — straight out of the camera, no post-production at all. And do you see the difference? Compared to the images I create with a GR camera and proper editing, these phone shots feel raw, limited, and unpredictable. The highlights blow out easily, shadows crush quickly, and the colors often shift without warning. Yet, there’s something interesting in this constraint: it shows how much craft, intention, and post-production truly shape a photograph. The phone records a moment, but the GR — combined with thoughtful processing — reveals the mood, depth, and emotion behind that moment. This comparison reminds me that tools matter, but vision matters even more.
