When I saw these four yellow plastic chickens hanging inside a cage, I could not help but connect the image to life in Hong Kong today. Brightly coloured and seemingly cheerful, they remain trapped behind bars, unable to move freely or choose their own direction. It feels like a quiet metaphor for many people living in the city—working hard, following routines, and carrying on with daily life, yet often feeling confined by economic pressures, limited opportunities, and an increasingly narrow sense of freedom. Sometimes, even the simplest objects can reflect emotions and realities that words alone struggle to express.
